Neurasthenic Clinc
This show took place in November, 2009 at Gallery 1010 in Knoxville, TN.
Collaborative project between myself and good friends David Czyz, and Drew Dudak. A combination of performance, audience participation, sound art, sculpture, curation, and design work.
The gallery became The Neurasthenic Clinic - a pop-up medical shop where guests would arrive and be diagnosed by Dr. Joshua Beard (Christian Cox) with the help of his two assitants Mr. Dudak (Drew Dudak) and Mr. Czyz (David Czyz). Along the walls were sound pieces, posters, and collected ephemera documenting Neurasthenia throughout the decades. Some of these documents were completely real, others fabricated by either one of the artists involved. There was no script, all dialog and situations were thought of on the fly, in response to incoming flow of people.
Photography by the wondefrul Jonathan Bagby, please go check out his work.
