Inspired by thoughts fueled by an audio lecture by Alan Watts and a physical lecture I attended by Liu Ho Jang I had an idea for a series to begin, simply for inspirational reasons.
The idea is, going back to Watts, asking "What is a thing?" In Watts' lecture, he made reference to a child pointing at some sort of gook on a wall, and asking the name for it. In western culture, we would say "oh, that's nothing" or simply call it (as I did) gook, or gunk. I have titled these Nonthings, things that are discarded or ignored, but hold very interesting forms. I have presented them as so.
The only rules set are they must be something discarded, or ignored, and the like. Also, they must be interesting formally to me. The list of Nonthings will continue to grow as I find them.
